Farm house in Nepal

Aggie Mountain Volunteer is an initiative taken up by the Nepalese Student Association at Texas A&M University. We will be traveling to Kathmandu, Nepal in May for 2 weeks. We are working with the Global Mountain Fund, a small nonprofit organization that has an established volunteer location in Kathmandu as well as in Dhadhing Manku. We will be working on a variety of things when we get to the location, Her Farm. There is an English learning school located there as well as a small clinic. As college students we will help with some English lessons, our head education student will lead the lesson plans as we will assist in the practice. We will also help in the clinic and shadow the doctors as they do checkups on patients. On alternating days we will walk to the rural hospital that is about an hour away to help out there. We will help with patient check in and also do manual vital signs. In the evenings we will work on whatever project is happening on the farm, a sports field or building landslide preventing. On a few of the days we will go do home visits with the doctors to do health checkups on patients who cannot reach the hospital by themselves.
