Nepal is rich in culture. It's culture consists of the social customs and traditions. Nepal has a unique culture. The rich cultural heritage of Nepal, has evolved over the centuries. This multi-dimensional cultural heritage encompasses within itself the cultural diversities of various ethnic, tribal, and social groups inhabiting different altitudes, and it manifests in various forms: music and dance; art and craft; folklore and folktales; languages and literature; philosophy and religion; festivals and celebration; foods and drinks.

Because gaining a deeper understanding of the culture and life in Nepal, is such an enriching and rewarding part of any volunteer experience, Mountain Volunteer now includes a 3 day 2 night Rural Experience trip where you will be deeply immersed in the real Nepal and its culture, foods and friendships. You'll stay with a host family on a working farm in the Dhading District of Nepal, about 2 hours outside of Kathmandu. NEW and EXPANDED Nepal Volunteer Opportunities

We've just added two new volunteer programs in Nepal and greatly expanded our rural placements.

Based on demand from many NGO's in Nepal we've added a program entitled "NGO Administrative and Grant Assistance." A lot of good NGO's simply cannot tell their story to the western donor community because they don't know the English language or understand western sensibilities and context. Your role, as a volunteer, will be to work with NGO's and edit, proofread and format reseach reports, donor reports, proposals and other correspondence in English.
