The Girls

I don't know what "volunteer placement companies" charge or how they spend the money or like you, I"m also not always sure what they charge for.  I do know exactly what we charge for and it's all about supporting you as a volunteer, keeping you safe, ensuring a quality program for you to volunteer with and being there every day, all day (and night by the way) to make sure that whatever you need to have a successful time in Nepal working as a volunteer.  Here's our list of what's included in our costs and take note, not a single item is a fee or cost for volunteering, it is 100% about providing you support, a clean place to live that's also secure, good food and of course, our all-girl staff throws in unlimited smiles for free :-)

New Logo for Mountain Volunteer

Mountain Volunteer Logo

We are in the process of redesigning the logo, web site and overall volunteer program in Nepal. While Mountain Volunteer is a program of The Mountain Fund, it's own real identity and now it will. We've also changed our entire approach to hosting volunteer in Nepal. In order to volunteer in Nepal with us, first thing is you'll need a resume as our program placements are now limited to only the best, most dedicated and sincere volunteers. We've changed to a very simple, straightforward cost model as well that's very clear and easy to understand, no hidden costs, no unexplained, or unexplainable fees.

PRICING - the price includes total, twenty-four hour a day support from our all-girl staff, a clean room in a modern house ...

Over the years we've worked with quite a few of these volunteer placement companies. Many of them have never had a single staff person even visit Nepal, and others perhaps had a single person visit one time only. These companies make money by advertising volunteer opportunties in Nepal, not by actually hosting you in Nepal. In fact, they make money by using google adwords and other sources to draw your attention ...

Global Health Internship for Volunteers in Nepal

Posted: Jul 5, 2013   |   From Our Director

We have limited openings for medical volunteers in our new program for volunteering in Nepal which is located at a rural hosptial in the Sindhupalchock District.

The Mountain Fund supports a  15 bed hospital with pharmacy, lab and x-ray in the community. There are no surgeries taking place here but the hospital does see 40 or more patients on a daily basis for a variety of illness and injuries. You will work with the doctor here, and under his supervision. You will have the opportunity to be involved in treatments as supervised and allowed by the doctor in charge. There's a community house nearby where you'll live and take meals. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to become a part of a rural community and engage in front ...
